Points in the Doraluna competition are determined by a combination of ratings and written reviews from friends and family, and evaluations from Doraluna’s panel of judges. The maximum total points that can be earned is 300 points. 200 points are awarded for ratings and reviews from readers and friends/family, and 100 points are awarded for evaluations from Doraluna’s panel of judges. The more reviews and ratings received from colleagues, classmates, teachers, etc., the greater the point accumulation. The participant with the highest total points will be awarded first place, and so on.

The calculation of points is outlined below:

3 stars + written review = +1 point

4 stars = +1  point

4 stars + written review = +2 points

5 stars = +2 points

5 stars + written reviews = +3 points

An example of point calculation in the Doraluna competition is as follows:

  • If a participant receives 150 points from star ratings/written reviews and 75 points from Doraluna’s panel of judges, their total point score would be 225 points.
  • Another participant receives 175 points from star ratings/written reviews and 60 points from Doraluna’s panel of judges, their total point score would be 235 points.

In this example, the second participant would be the winner due to their higher point score.
